The Poster Child for Possibility- Living the impossible dream!

Who's to say if our country is ready for a white woman or a black man to run the oval office? One thing I do know is the more we as individuals, families, groups and societies focus on what feels good the impossible becomes POSSIBLE. Take my co-author of You Can't Get It 'Cause You've Already Got It! Stash Serafin. When he first started skating over thirty years ago he was told, "a blind man can't figure skate". Luckily for Stash, his subconscious mind heard "A blind man CAN skate!" Now in his fifties with the help of his Olympic figure skating coach, he is training to do jumps that when he finally achieves them will make him the oldest man to land them.

Why do we have impossible dreams? Is it because we judge our human capabilities or limitations on what others have achieved? Do we measure what's possible on past successes or failures. I wonder what would happen if for the next 24 hours everyone reading this picked one impossible dream and did one thing that scared us because if we succeeded our lives might change forever!

O.K. Here's my impossible dream... to have a straight healthy spine without surgery. In May of 2005, (eight weeks before I got married) I've been actively experiencing weekly milestones in my impossible dream and am happy to report that much of the pain in my back is gone as my spine is becoming more aligned to it's healthy state thanks to my awesome spine coach/ chiropractor!

Make your impossible dream a personal challenge.

My challenge as a Scripting for Success coach is to inspire millions of people to script their success and achieve a personal impossible dream such as: Reuniting with a loved one, acquiring wealth for your talents and resources, becoming a leader in your community, surpassing your personal best at work or on the playing field. Becoming a teacher renowned in your field for moving your industry forward. Luckily my subconscious mind is ready to support me in this challenge based on feedback from previous Scripting for Success clients and the inspirational stories in You Can't Get It 'Cause You've Already Got It!

What's your IMPOSSIBLE DREAM? Who's your IMPOSSIBLE DREAM coach? Please send me a one sentence statement on your IMPOSSIBLE DREAM to: ruth@ruthannewood.com or post it here! For inspiration view Stash, my blind co-author, Stash Serafin skating on ice!

Book “BANNED” by Library of Congress Due to Homeland Security?

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Stash Serafin, (Cell): 215-806-0799

BOOK “BANNED” BY THE LIBRARY OF
CONGRESS DUE TO HOMELAND SECURITY?

Philadelphia, PA

RAW or RUTH ANNE WOOD in all caps as the IRS likes to call her, has finally realized the secret to success! No it wasn’t subscribing to organized religion. On August 31, 2007 RUTH became a producer, published author and playwright all on the same day by harnessing the sweat and passion of slave labor a.k.a. friends who volunteered at the 2007 Philly Fringe Festival. Directing and having her cast adlib for the debut production of “The Table”, an original comedy about a career in massage for 11 shows was a “dream come true”.

Helping co-author Stash Serafin finally express his challenges and victories of figure skating with world-class and Oylympic stars despite being blind since birth was awesome too! Watching the blind man smell and touch the cover of You Can’t Get It ‘Cause You’ve Already Got It! with such joy was três cool! As far as “The Table” Ruth says. “Our harshest critic hands down was a former nun on opening night who we were sponsoring her wellness center. I turned to her high after finishing our closing line, “Drive safe and drink lots of water” and asked her what she thought of the show (after all we were giving her group 25% of the ticket proceeds.)

“I didn’t like it at all. It was horrible.” Not what you want to hear first time out of the gate especially from an ex-nun! I guess we neglected to inform her she was at the theater of the absurd or that we were one of the tamest acts at the Philly Fringe. We’re not sure what part of our tale about a 5,000 year misjudged art exploring the sacred and taboo of a career in massage therapy offended her most. It could have been Russell, a Texas cowboy and Stephan a massage therapist’s candid conversation at a bar. “There are three kinds of men.” Stephan Forge preached, “The first man is ok getting a massage by a man because he’s secure about his sexuality. The second man likes being touched by men because he’s gay and the third is on the fence.” Pointing to the audience, “What kind of man are you?”

Or maybe it was our depiction of Russell Longhorn’s sensual fantasy during his massage or the ruffled tail feathers of our director and star RUTH as a nudist tried to book a massage appointment on instant messenger? But we kind of doubt it was the old lady taking out her dentures just before struggling to get on the massage table or the Catholic “Ma” handing her daughter rosary beads and mace for protection from strangers coming over for a massage. The characters were a conglomeration of 13 years of massage therapy. Ruth’s motto is: If work is starting to be a rut go ahead write a comedy about it! RUTH challenges her audience including the ex nun to write a scene for "The Table". Budding playwrights who are fed up or enthralled massage therapists give us your best take of a 5,000 year old misjudged career. DVD's for inspiration are available at http://wwww.scriptingforsuccess.com By the way our "token ex-nun" showed up unannounced the final night and was impressed at how we evolved as story tellers in 3 weeks as she proceeded to give us a round of hugs.

On the other end of the spectrum is co-authored book You Can’t Get It ‘Cause You’ve Already Got It! (A blind figure skater and a visionary writer’s inspiration guide to moving through life) it has already been “banned” by the Library of Congress. Why? It’s not because her co-author Stash Serafin challenged the skating world thirty years ago by skating in shows with Olympic and world-class figure skaters despite being blind since birth. Did it offend the sighted kid’s parents that he was completing SKATING mile stones faster than their sighted kids? You betcha. On a side note, in his mid fifties, Stash Serafin is one of the oldest males training to land a quad. RUTH and Stash’s “banned” book actually has to do with a little thing called Homeland Security. When RUTH ANNE WOOD got a form letter back from the Library of Congress saying her book had been irradiated and she was told with a standard form letter she’d have to mail them new books to be registered by the copyright office, she sat on the landing by the front door trying to piece together yet another piece of the book publishing puzzle. Her husband had to translate: “The US postal service melted your two book covers, during the irradiation or decontamination process, Love. Next time let me microwave your books,” RUTH’s husband offered, “that way they’ll be homeland security compliant!” The question RUTH asks now is, “If a book is published and it’s not on Amazon.com does it exist?” After releasing her book on Amazon.com 11/11/07 the real question is if it’s not talked about by Glenn Beck, has the book reached critical mass, yet? Audiences are invited to post their insights applied to real life using Stash and RUTH'S metaphor of scripting and skating through life and post their movie of it on You Tube. The submissions will be collected in 2008 and pieced together into a movie in to be released in 2009.

RAW, has had the pleasure of writing stories about her desires and then having them come true which is the visionary writer part of You Can’t Get It ‘Cause You’ve Already Got It! Is it a form of prayer or disciplined focus? Maybe? Is that what all the hype about the movie The Secret was all about? Perhaps. Here stories about hang gliding and travel lead her to hang glide three times, hitch hike across the country with a girl friend and a bushy bearded man from the Ozarks named Pat, live as a bum in Hawaii, travel to Indonesia with her grand mother and marry the man that matched 29/30 items on her “Meet My Life Partner Wish List”. It’s only fitting she is a “getter done” life coach and a writing and publishing consultant for industry leaders ready to mentor a larger community. As for the Library of Congress, Ruth says she doesn’t want to take any chances getting her book “banned” again! Been there done that! "Jason, set the books on HIGH for two minutes. Thanks."

In the first week selling on amazon.com released on 11/11/07, the book is already generating support from organizations such as; Twilight Wish Foundation, (an organization that celebrates seniors and makes wishes come true) and local Lions clubs who were instrumental in helping co-author of You Can’t Get It 'Cause You've Already Got It! Stash Serafin get two former leader dogs.

One of this year’s projects that is already under way for You Can’t Get It 'Cause You've Already Got It! is to make a million copies available for the seeing impaired by 11/11/08 with the plan to raise over a million dollars total for participating Lions clubs through the electronic edition of Ruth Anne Wood and Stash Serafin’s paperback. Local and national groups who want to learn more are invited to visit scriptingforsuccess.com

The second project is to collected movies around the world posted on You Tube that illustrate how people are utilizing the lessons learned from the authors and positively implementing them in their health, physical activates, relationships, careers and communities. These stories put together in a style influenced by the mega best seller, “The Secret” will be used in the 2009 You Can’t Get It 'Cause You've Already Got It! film.

When one person realizes, they can’t get it ‘cause they’ve already got it, this creates a ripple effect in the community. That why authors Ruth Anne Wood and Stash Serafin strive for unity in the community by partnering with organizations and people that make a difference by honoring what personally feels good.

Shout out to Massage Enthusists at the 2007 Philly Fringe

PHIADELPHIA, PA PLAYWRIGHT DEBUTS "THE TABLE" COMICAL STORIES OF A 5,000 YEAR ART AT THE PHILLY FRINGE

(Doylestown, PA) "The Table" by Doylestown playwright, Ruth Anne Wood will make its debut at the Philly Fringe August 31 September 15. "The Table" explores the comical, enlightening and therapeutic stories of massage enthusiasts and massage therapists. The play generates an open dialogue about the curiosities, misperceptions and taboos of this 5,000 year old healing art. The production fittingly found a "stage" at the Massage Arts Center of Philadelphia at 714 Market Street.

In the tradition of the original Festival Fringe in Edinburgh, Scotland, and carried on by the Philly Fringe, Wood produces her own work finding the venue, conceiving, directing, designing, managing and producing the play.

Each performance will be unique as the audience and actors add to the creative process including "Who's Line Is It Anyway?" type actor/audience scenes and a chance for audience members to add to the musical dimension of the show. The audience will get into the spirit of the play as volunteers offer a relaxing shoulder massage before the performance. Plan to arrive early.

Ruth Anne (Dilley) is a 1994 graduate of CB West. Her debut as a performer began at age 9 when she spontaneously responded to the call from New Hope poets at the "Brown Bag It for the Arts" program at the Bucks County Court House and recited several of her original poems.

The arts have been an integral part of her life work. Ruth's life coaching practice, Scripting for SuccessTM, grew out of her realization of the power of writing one's highest vision. The approach has changed the paths of individual's lives by supporting them to create their own best life as statements on her website relate.

Wood recently used her coaching skills with one of the reluctant actors in "The Table". By using a technique called "The Walk-About for the SoulTM" he was able to move into a dynamic character in a fully expressive manner. The transformation amazed the other actors.

Wood's Thriving Artist Press published the e-book Abundant Magical Lives: Insights for Passionate People. Her most recent biography which will be available for book signings after the show is You Can't Get It 'Cause You've Already Got It: A blind figure skater and visionary writer's inspirational guide to moving through life. The book grew out of work with co-author Stash Serafin, a Philly local who has skated with world-class figure skaters, despite being blind since infancy.

In 2006 the Live Arts and Fringe festivals featured works from more than1,485 participating artists, attracted nearly 45,000 attendees. A 2006 audience survey revealed that 50% of audiences see more than 10 arts events annually.

Make "The Table" and the Philly fringe part of your "best life".

"The Table" Aug. 31, 8 PM; Sept 1-3, 3PM, 8PM; Sept. 8, 8PM; Sept. 9, 3PM, 8PM; Sept 15. 8 PM. Selling Reality To An Entertaiment Hungry Audience

Turn daily drama into a comedy!
There's a lot of joy that comes from transforming industry stories into a theatrical comedy. If you ever felt dis-hearted about your career and wish you could approach it with the renewed excitement of when you first began, try your hand at play writing. Go ahead and take your most ground graveling, face blushing, head popping conversations or interactions with your mortgage paying clients, time juggling co-workers, dream making prospects, bubble bursting relatives and confidence recharging ah ha! moments and magnify them by an audience of 10 20 or even 50 for 11 shows over the course of a three week festival.

The Beginning of "The Table"...
Back in mid April my husband dared me to be the writer I've always drempt when I embarked on a life long desire of being a publicly recognized playwright. As a massage therapist and life coach in the buz of helping clients health and relationship dreams come true I realized it was time to put a few of my own on the front burner. Soon show proposals, fees and deadlines were thrust upon me when I committed to doing my very first Philly Fringe Festival play on the true and not so embellished confessions of real massage therapists. We've chosen this play as a way to laugh instead of lament about the bizarre encounters behind closed doors in our theraputic massage treatment rooms.

What happen at "The Table"?
The massage table morphs into a romantic bed, a shrinks office, a bar, a fantasy land, an office and a sanctuary as clients and massage therapists relive moments of pleasure, shame, passion, vulnerability, insight, forgiveness, healing and hope with a high energy cast of characters.

Bigger visions, same size table
For many finite project goals such as "The Table" premier successfully running from August 31 to September 15, 2007 we possess a larger vision, a legacy if you will of how this universal massage therapy experience can be portrayed and witnessed by millions of fans. We want to continue to partner up with awesome venues such as our Fringe host Massage Arts Center of Philadelphia and give back to the community with ongoing charity efforts such as our first one to raise funds for the Camden Wellness Center. Now we are in the process of taking "The Table" national to other massage schools, non-profit organizations, massage therapists, theater groups, t.v. and internet venues around the country.

For this we invite innovative advertisers and sponsors to make lasting contributions to our show. It takes a committed playwright/director/ producer to conceive, write and deliver one event and a inspired community of massage enthusiasts and forward thinking entrepreneurs to inspire a society of health and ascertainment seeking consumers.

We need local vendors who want to featured in our 11 Philly Fringe shows (+3)
We need national sponsors who want dibs on product placement in our DVD (+4)

For more information about "The Table" tickets, show times, sponsorship opportunities and more about the Philly Fringe Festival visit: "The Table" for times and dates
