Turn daily drama into a comedy!
There's a lot of joy that comes from transforming industry stories into a theatrical comedy. If you ever felt dis-hearted about your career and wish you could approach it with the renewed excitement of when you first began, try your hand at play writing. Go ahead and take your most ground graveling, face blushing, head popping conversations or interactions with your mortgage paying clients, time juggling co-workers, dream making prospects, bubble bursting relatives and confidence recharging ah ha! moments and magnify them by an audience of 10 20 or even 50 for 11 shows over the course of a three week festival.
The Beginning of "The Table"...
Back in mid April my husband dared me to be the writer I've always drempt when I embarked on a life long desire of being a publicly recognized playwright. As a massage therapist and life coach in the buz of helping clients health and relationship dreams come true I realized it was time to put a few of my own on the front burner. Soon show proposals, fees and deadlines were thrust upon me when I committed to doing my very first Philly Fringe Festival play on the true and not so embellished confessions of real massage therapists. We've chosen this play as a way to laugh instead of lament about the bizarre encounters behind closed doors in our theraputic massage treatment rooms.
What happen at "The Table"?
The massage table morphs into a romantic bed, a shrinks office, a bar, a fantasy land, an office and a sanctuary as clients and massage therapists relive moments of pleasure, shame, passion, vulnerability, insight, forgiveness, healing and hope with a high energy cast of characters.
Bigger visions, same size table
For many finite project goals such as "The Table" premier successfully running from August 31 to September 15, 2007 we possess a larger vision, a legacy if you will of how this universal massage therapy experience can be portrayed and witnessed by millions of fans. We want to continue to partner up with awesome venues such as our Fringe host Massage Arts Center of Philadelphia and give back to the community with ongoing charity efforts such as our first one to raise funds for the Camden Wellness Center. Now we are in the process of taking "The Table" national to other massage schools, non-profit organizations, massage therapists, theater groups, t.v. and internet venues around the country.
For this we invite innovative advertisers and sponsors to make lasting contributions to our show. It takes a committed playwright/director/ producer to conceive, write and deliver one event and a inspired community of massage enthusiasts and forward thinking entrepreneurs to inspire a society of health and ascertainment seeking consumers.
We need local vendors who want to featured in our 11 Philly Fringe shows (+3)
We need national sponsors who want dibs on product placement in our DVD (+4)
